Rich At Heart is a mixed media piece on stretched canvas, 30×15 inches. She painted the woman and background with brushed, and added letters she cut from various newspapers to write : “Prends mon coeur, I am rich at heart”. The first part of the sentence means take my heart in French. She is offering her heart, which she cut out herself with the knife she is holding in her other hand, and dressed the wound with a $1,000,000 bill. The message in here is that somebody may have taken your heart away, but you are still worth a million bucks. Your essence remains yours to keep, and that makes you rich. This piece was inspired by some of painter Sue Tsai’s work. SOLD.
