Original Sin is a mixed-media piece on stretched canvas, 70×30 inches. the character is painted with oil, and the background in acrylic using masking tape, brushes, and palette knives. Several themes dear to her are present on this piece : Love and passion, conformity of our society, and the paradox of sexual stigmatization. The 1st one is represented with the apple, universal and biblical symbol for sin. She is offering an apple already bitten in the shape of a heart, as many sins are committed in the name of Love. Conformity is here represented with the Stormtrooper helmet. The Stormtroopers in the Star Wars saga of George Lucas are the ultimate clones, not only created from the same person but also dressed alike, their face covered, no distinction possible, get the same orders… Finally, the naked body depicts the controversial ubiquity of sexuality in our society. The paradox that is our society condemns sexuality and sensuality, but it is absolutely everywhere. SOLD.
